$19.24 - $30.78 Hourly

$40,018 - $64,029 Annually

This position is a Pay Band 60

Why does the job exist?

The purpose of this position is to assist in increasing awareness of registered apprentice, expanding the number of registered apprenticeship programs and apprentices in the state, aiding in compliance reviews and the program audits.

How does it get done?

Key responsibilities of the position will require outreach activities (participation in career/job fairs, presentations) and meeting with employers to provide them with information on registered apprenticeship, assist them in the development of program standards and the administration of an apprenticeship program and assisting existing programs in the revisions of program standards. Providing guidance and technical assistance to all registered apprenticeship program sponsors. Meeting with program sponsors to complete compliance reviews/program audits.

Minimum Qualification

Associate's degree in Social Services, Education, Government, Human Resources or Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in customer service, administrative support, business administration, human resources, recruitment, placement, processing personnel transactions and/or eligibility determination in a private or public sector and/or social welfare program.   • Education and years of experience must be related to the purpose of the position.
  • If Minimum Qualification requires a specific number of "semester hours" in a field (e.g. 6 semester hours in Accounting), applicants MUST have those semester hours in order to meet the minimum qualifications. No substitutions apply for semester hours.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

Work is mostly performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Position requires statewide travel.
