Job Description

A 198-bed, Level III trauma center serving the Four Corners region (New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah) is seeking a Cardiac ECHO Sonographer to join its Cardiopulmonary Specialty Services department. This facility provides care to a diverse regional population and supports a broad range of cardiac diagnostic services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

This role is focused on performing high-quality cardiac ultrasound imaging, with an emphasis on adult echocardiography and exposure to pediatric studies when applicable. The sonographer works with patients presenting a wide variety of cardiac conditions and contributes directly to diagnostic accuracy and ongoing patient care planning.

Daily responsibilities include performing adult and pediatric echocardiograms, operating GE Vivid E95 ultrasound systems, and documenting studies within a Cerner electronic health record system. The position requires attention to detail, strong technical proficiency, and the ability to adapt imaging techniques based on patient condition and clinical need. Call coverage is limited and rotates on a structured schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as RDCS or through CCI required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon submission

  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience required

  • Adult echocardiography experience required

  • Pediatric echocardiography experience preferred

  • Additional required certifications may be obtained post-hire

Schedule:

  • Full-time

  • Day shift

  • Call coverage every 5th week (one-week duration)

  • Weekend call every 5th weekend
