About Us Educational Justice (EJ) is a nonprofit in Louisville, KY, dedicated to tackling educational inequity. We connect low-income middle school students with high-achieving high school tutors for free, one-on-one mentorship and academic support. Our mission is to create opportunities for young students who may not otherwise have access to vital educational resources. . Position Overview: Outreach & Community Recruitment This role is for a community-minded, relationship-builder excited about actively engaging in outreach across Louisville! As the Outreach & Community Recruitment VISTA, you’ll be the face of EJ in the community, connecting with schools, nonprofits, and community groups to recruit both tutors (Activists) and tutees (Scholars). You will develop and maintain partnerships that enhance visibility and engagement, plan events, oversee clubs, and you’ll design strategies to grow our program's reach and impact. Member Duties : Primary Responsibilities Your work will center around community engagement, relationship-building, and outreach. In this role, you will: Develop Partnerships Actively seek new partnerships with local schools, nonprofits, and community organizations Represent EJ at community events, fairs, and conventions Maintain a dynamic database of partners and develop innovative ways to collaborate Recruit High School Activists (Tutors) and Scholars (Tutees) Visit local Schools - elementary, middle and high Coordinating and attending tabling events at schools and in the community Build relationships with teachers, principals, and FRYSC officers Planning outreach events Help oversee and grow High school EJ clubs Strategic Planning Recording and analysing recruitment data Creating recruitment plans to encourage more youth participation Create new marketing and presentation material
