Director of Fulfillment

Industry: Luxury Consumer Goods / Textiles
Location: South Elgin, IL (Onsite)
Compensation: $100,000 - $150,000 Base Salary
Reports To: CEO & CTO

We are seeking an experienced Director of Fulfillment to lead warehouse operations, order fulfillment, inventory management, and logistics for a growing omnichannel luxury consumer products company.

This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for ensuring warehouse and fulfillment operations work seamlessly together to deliver an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate brings strong operational leadership, a data-driven mindset, and experience managing high-volume fulfillment environments for premium consumer products.

This position will oversee a team of 50+ employees while driving operational excellence, process improvement, inventory accuracy, cost control, and scalable growth.

What You'll Do

Operations & Fulfillment Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 50+ warehouse and fulfillment professionals
• Oversee daily warehouse and fulfillment operations to ensure productivity, quality, and service goals are achieved
• Monitor workflow throughout the day and proactively address operational bottlenecks
• Drive accountability around department KPIs, productivity metrics, quality standards, and workload completion

Process Improvement & Continuous Growth

• Analyze fulfillment performance data to identify opportunities for operational improvement
• Develop and present recommendations to executive leadership
• Implement process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
• Partner with technology leadership to improve fulfillment systems and automation capabilities

Financial & Inventory Management

• Manage fulfillment budgets and operational expenses
• Partner with Finance on forecasting, labor planning, inventory valuation, shrinkage, and capital expenditures
• Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure strong inventory control practices
• Develop reporting and analytics to support informed business decisions

Logistics & Vendor Management

• Manage relationships with shipping and logistics partners including UPS, FedEx, USPS, and freight providers
• Negotiate service improvements and cost-saving opportunities
• Coordinate domestic and international inbound freight shipments
• Ensure timely and cost-effective product movement throughout the supply chain

Leadership & Culture

• Build and maintain a high-performance, accountability-driven culture
• Coach and develop department managers and supervisors
• Establish clear expectations and performance standards across teams
• Foster collaboration, engagement, and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5+ years of leadership experience in fulfillment, warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management
• Proven experience leading large operational teams in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive operational decisions
• Experience managing budgets, forecasting, labor planning, and operational metrics
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and team development skills

Highly Preferred

• Experience within luxury consumer products, premium retail, apparel, accessories, beauty, jewelry, specialty goods, home décor, textiles, or other small, high-volume products
• Experience supporting omnichannel fulfillment operations (eCommerce, wholesale, retail, direct-to-consumer)
• Strong inventory management and warehouse optimization experience
• Experience working with fulfillment technology, warehouse management systems (WMS), and operational reporting tools
