Job Summary

Job description:

Join our team at Beaver Street Food Co. as a Food Safety Sanitarian ! This role is responsible for leading all areas of safety and sanitation compliance at the location. Sanitation is a key priority, and the ideal candidate will be a health, safety, and sanitation champion who is focused on people and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership, training and oversight for all food handling personnel on property including all culinary, service and management
  • Oversight for all sanitation procedures
  • Works with the staff to ensure regular cleaning and sanitation of all:
    • Foodservice hand tools and service ware
    • Refrigeration and freezers
    • Hot holding equipment
  • Ensures compliance and high grades from county health inspections and internal company and third-party audits
  • Performs regular physical audits and inspections of all foodservice and food handling areas of the property
    • Daily: High volume production areas such as main kitchens, preparation areas and warehouses
    • Weekly: Remote pantries and food staging areas
  • Ensures that all following are filled out
    • Time and temperature logs
    • Refrigerator and freezer logs
  • Maintains a systematic and well-ordered history of all required logs in compliance with government and company regulations, ready to present to management and inspectors as required
  • Observe, monitor and train staff to ensure proper food handling, sanitation, hand wash and glove use
  • Works with warehouse, purchasing and receiving personnel to ensure that all products received are at the correct temperatures and have been handled according to company policies and government regulations
  • Ensure that correct sanitation products are purchased, in inventory and being used
  • Prepares and files regular inspection reports with the Director of Operations and Executive Chef
  • Perform additional tasks as needed

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Attention to detail and organized.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced food and beverage environment
  • Health, safety, and sanitation background preferred
  • Ability to obtain Food Handler card, if not already obtained
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
