Within the Labor and Delivery service line, the Women’s Services continuum delivers a best-in-class experience across maternity, perinatal, and OB/GYN care—spanning triage, antepartum, LDR/LDRP, cesarean ORs, postpartum/couplet care, and collaboration with neonatal services—supported by advanced technology, optimized workflows, and evidence-based protocols; this Maternity environment offers the scale and resources of a 200+ beds hospital along with the personal touch and coastal lifestyle that draw talented nurses and physicians to Southeast Texas.
Reporting to a forward-thinking CNO/VP of Patient Care Services, the Labor and Delivery Nurse Director leads L&D operations with robust support from assistant nurse managers, educators, lactation experts, perinatal quality leaders, and charge RNs. Responsibilities include strategic planning, staffing and scheduling, budget stewardship, quality and safety initiatives, HAI reduction, perinatal bundle compliance, maternal early-warning adoption, and continuous improvement in collaboration with anesthesia, neonatology, OB hospitalists, and case management, all within a friendly, inclusive team of nurses and a diverse healthcare professional community that makes L&D a place where people love to practice.
