Job Description

We are seeking a motivated, career-minded Installation Technician to join our team in a trusted leader in access control and commercial security solutions. Whether you have experience in security, alarm systems, IT, or maintenance, or are looking to build a career in this field, this position offers hands-on training, long-term growth, and a clear career path within a thriving industry.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and maintain commercial security systems including access control, gate systems, cameras, keypads, and burglar alarm systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system and equipment issues in the field.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding work performed.
  • Collaborate with technicians, project managers, and office support staff.
  • Maintain accurate job documentation and service records.
  • Travel regularly to customer locations, including occasional overnight travel (2–3 nights per month).
  • Maintain a company vehicle by reporting required service and maintenance needs.
  • Complete expense reports and document company credit card charges with receipts and explanations.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in security, low-voltage install or service.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to prepare/program access control, burglar alarms, CCTV equipment, networking equipment, and other hardware as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with security systems, including gates, keypads, cameras, and alarms.
  • Experience collaborating with clients and field technicians remotely.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, within a 60-mile radius of the shop. It requires regular travel to job sites and occasional overnight stays. We provide a company vehicle and all necessary tools for the job.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
