PART-TIME PHARMACIST (INFUSION PHARMACY)
Lexington, Kentucky | Part-Time | 16–25 Hours per Week

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A growing, locally owned infusion pharmacy is seeking a Part-Time Pharmacist to support its home infusion and alternate-site infusion services in Lexington, Kentucky. This is an on-site opportunity within a closed-door pharmacy environment, allowing pharmacists to focus on clinical care, medication management, and infusion therapy support without the interruptions commonly associated with retail pharmacy settings.

The organization is dedicated to helping patients with acute and chronic conditions receive safe, convenient, and high-quality infusion therapy in the home or alternate infusion setting. POSITION SUMMARY

The Pharmacist will oversee the preparation, verification, and dispensing of medications used in infusion therapy while ensuring compliance with all applicable pharmacy regulations, safety standards, and sterile compounding requirements. This individual will work closely with prescribers, nurses, pharmacy technicians, patients, and referral sources to support safe therapy initiation, ongoing treatment monitoring, and positive patient outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical & Pharmacy Operations

  • Review, verify, and dispense medications for home infusion and alternate-site infusion therapies.
  • Ensure medication safety, clinical appropriateness, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Support sterile compounding operations in accordance with USP <797> standards and internal quality procedures.
  • Monitor patient therapy progress and communicate clinical concerns or therapy-related issues as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and pharmacy workflow processes.

Patient & Provider Collaboration

  • Provide patient-centered consultation and education regarding prescribed infusion therapies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, referral sources, and internal pharmacy staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Support therapy initiation, ongoing monitoring, and positive clinical outcomes.
  • Deliver responsive and compassionate service to patients and caregivers.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Participate in quality assurance, compliance, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, and company policies.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Active Kentucky Pharmacist License.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or equivalent pharmacy degree.
  • Knowledge of sterile compounding practices, USP <797> , medication safety, and pharmacy compliance standards.
  • Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, nursing teams, patients, and pharmacy personnel.
  • Strong organizational and workflow management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in infusion therapy, home infusion, specialty pharmacy, or acute/chronic disease management.
  • Familiarity with infusion medications, biologics, specialty therapies, and patient monitoring programs.
