About EDS
EDS is a seminary reimagined for a changing church and world, grounded in the liberating love of Jesus and dedicated to accessible theological education and leadership formation responsive to local and global contexts.
EDS has a history of boldly embracing change, being on the cutting edge of theological education, and forming Christian leaders for justice. As a historic seminary of The Episcopal Church, EDS is resourced and positioned to do something the church has not yet seen. Due to our legacy of innovation, we also have the historic credibility to leverage a new direction. The model we are cultivating today embraces, and expands upon, a legacy of curiosity that seeks what is next for the church and allows our pedagogy and priorities to be informed by perspectives from the margins.
EDS is committed to providing all ministers and leaders of our church with opportunities for critical theological reflection and skills for leadership in their communities. Our offerings are for people who desire opportunities for deep theological reflection on the pressing concerns of our day and for those looking to build capacity for new, creative forms of Christian leadership.
