Job Description:

SUNY Schenectady invites applications for a full-time Psychology Instructor to join a collaborative, student-centered academic community. We seek an educator who is passionate about teaching, committed to student success, and excited to work with students in a community college setting.

The successful candidate will teach a 15-credit course load per semester and contribute to a department that values innovative pedagogy, professional growth, and effective teaching practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach undergraduate psychology courses in a variety of formats, including in-person and online
  • Foster an engaging, supportive learning environment that promotes student success
  • Hold regular office hours and provide academic guidance to students
  • Participate in departmental and college service, including assessment and committee work
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to teaching and learning
  • Contribute to a collegial and supportive academic community

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Psychology from an accredited institution
  • Teaching experience in higher education or a closely related instructional or training setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with online or technology-enhanced instruction
  • Teaching experience in a community college setting
  • Doctoral degree in Psychology or a related field

Special Information:

  • Employment commences on August 17, 2026

  • Offers of employment will be conditional based on the successful completion of a background check and verification of official college transcripts

Salary: $51,727
