Sewing Machine Operator Details:

• Temp-to-Hire position
• $16.00 / hour
• Full Time work available
• Weekend work required
• Second Shift ( Monday through Friday from 03:45pm to 12:15am )

• Under the general direction of the Expansion Value Stream Manager, the Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for operating industrial sewing equipment and ensuring finished products meet customer specifications and work order requirements.
• The operator is responsible for producing quality products, identifying defects, performing minor machine maintenance, and following all production and safety standards.Key
• Start and test sewing machinery at the beginning of each shift to ensure proper operation.
• Gather and verify all required materials and components before beginning production.
• Draw threads through needles and adjust machine settings as needed.
• Position materials correctly and sew components together according to specifications.
• Replace and rethread needles as necessary.
• Sew complete bags according to customer specifications and work orders.
• Repair missing stitches and attach replacement parts according to repair instructions.
• Attach components and parts as specified on work orders.
• Monitor sewing operations and inspect products for defects or discrepancies.

Sewing Machine Operator Qualifications:

• Frequent use of industrial sewing machines, scissors, cutters, and measuring tools
• Standing for extended periods of 8-10 hours
• Repetitive hand and arm movements
• 3–5 years of related sewing machine experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, percentages, rates, and ratios.
• Ability to identify and resolve routine production and equipment issues.
• Ability to sew complete bags according to customer specifications.
