Responsibilities
- Perform transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms to assess cardiac function.
- Review patient history and collaborate with cardiologists to determine the appropriate ultrasound techniques.
- Ensure high-quality images are obtained for analysis and diagnosis of heart conditions such as valve disease, heart failure, and cardiomyopathies.
- Provide preliminary observations and report findings to cardiologists and physicians.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA and hospital protocols.
- Troubleshoot and ensure proper functioning of echocardiogram equipment.
- Adapt to various hospital workflows and procedures during travel assignments.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
- Certification in Cardiac Sonography (RDCS or RCS) required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in performing echocardiograms in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in using echocardiographic equipment and interpreting results.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness and flexibility to accept travel assignments to different healthcare facilities.
