Overview
Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR), Travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. Start date 08/17/2026 for an 8-week contract with 40 guaranteed hours per week. Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 5 days on a rotating 8-hour schedule. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital. This travel role is managed by Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

- Epic EMR experience required

Responsibilities
- Circulate in the Operating Room during surgical procedures; assist surgeons and the anesthesiologist
- Coordinate flow of equipment, supplies, and staff to support aseptic technique and intraoperative care
- Prepare patients for surgery, including safe positioning and preprocedure assessment
- Perform pre-, intra-, and post-procedure nursing care planning and documentation
- Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials and maintain tissue/tissue-log documentation as required
- Ensure patient safety and readiness for emergent situations, while adhering to environment of care standards and utility and equipment safety

Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- BLS certification from an approved vendor required
- Current Epic EMR experience required
- At least two years of recent OR experience; one year of full-time OR experience is explicitly referenced as required
- PALS certification preferred; CNOR certification preferred
- Ability to circulate and provide perioperative nursing care in a high-demand OR setting
