Job Description

  • Maintain a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor when communicating with patients both in person and over the phone. 
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling appointments. 
  • Scan and upload patient and office documents accurately into the electronic medical record system. 
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and confirm referral requirements prior to appointments. 
  • Submit prior authorization requests for applicable procedures and services. 
  • Check patients in and out efficiently while ensuring accurate documentation and patient flow. 
  • Collect copayments, outstanding balances, and process patient payments in accordance with office policies. 

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a strong sense of reliability and professionalism. 
  • Proficient computer skills required, including experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems. 
  • Must have reliable transportation and dependable attendance. 
  • Ability to effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment while working collaboratively as part of a team. 

Job Type: 

  • Full-time: Must be able to work between 6:30am – 3:00pm 

 

Experience: 

  • A minimum of one year of experience working as a medical receptionist is required. 
  • Previous dermatology experience is preferred but not required. 

Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
