Position Overview

We are seeking a highly creative, independent Senior Video Editor based in South Africa to lead the post-production assembly pipeline for our diverse media projects. Operating entirely from your home office on U.S. business hours, you will turn raw footage and multi-track recordings into polished, broadcast-ready digital experiences. Moving fluidly through narrative flows, you will own the technical execution of video composition, precise color grading, and custom audio mixing. This role requires an editor with exceptional attention to detail who can interpret loose creative briefs and hit tight delivery deadlines comfortably without micro-management.

Key Responsibilities

• High-Fidelity Video Assembly: Edit, structure, and assemble raw digital footage into highly polished video files matching target project goals and brand standards.
• Creative Asset Integration: Seamlessly incorporate motion graphics, dynamic text overlays, background music, and environmental sound effects to enrich audience engagement.
• Audio Mixing & Grading: Control structural post-production parameters, executing professional color corrections, clean frame compositions, and crisp sound sweetening loops.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner alongside distributed creative teams, graphic artists, and project managers to deconstruct target audience demographics and align content strategies.
• Archive Database Management: Systematically organize, tag, and maintain internal video source directories and master files to guarantee easy asset accessibility and project continuity.
• Social Media Optimization: Track emerging online video dynamics, applying platform-specific formatting structures optimized for social media and streaming networks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven professional tracking history operating as a Video Editor or digital media artist, backed by a strong portfolio of completed commercial work.
• Master-level operational fluency running Adobe Premiere Pro in fast-paced editing environments.
• Deep understanding of technical editing fundamentals, including pacing, audio-track splitting, asset aspect ratios, and export codec rendering parameters.
• Outstanding cross-functional team coordination habits and highly responsive remote communication mechanics.
• Location Context: Part-time freelance remote-first infrastructure open exclusively to qualified media professionals permanently based inside South Africa .
• Shift Prerequisite: Absolute availability to work and maintain regular alignment with **U.S. operational business hours**.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

• Prior experience tailoring multi-format assets for direct-to-consumer e-commerce brands, tech startups, or modern digital agencies.
• Familiarity with supplementary post-production tool ecosystems like Adobe After Effects, Audition, or DaVinci Resolve.
