Job Summary:

The Systems Testing/QA Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the quality and functionality of complex multi-tier, multi-platform systems. This role involves collaborating with business analysts, project managers, IT teams, and business SMEs to validate software solutions through various testing methodologies, including manual and automated testing, in an onsite environment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Business Analysts to review business requirements and use cases.
• Develop and document detailed testing plans and test cases aligned with business requirements.
• Execute testing checklists and incorporate results into production readiness assessments.
• Perform end-to-end functional, regression, performance, vulnerability, and security testing.
• Document defects and coordinate re-testing of resolved issues.
• Support project planning, change management, and release activities with project managers.
• Contribute QA artifacts for architecture checkpoint reviews.
• Collaborate with business SMEs to conduct user acceptance and production acceptance testing.
• Conduct manual testing to supplement automated test results when necessary.
• Compile and report findings from both automated and manual testing efforts.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• 10+ years of experience in developing test strategies, plans, scenarios, and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Proven experience delivering QA requirements using waterfall and agile methodologies.
• Expertise in multiple testing types including unit, functional, integration, regression, load, security, performance, and user acceptance testing.
• Experience with automated testing tools and version control/defect management systems such as Confluence, JIRA, or TestRail.
• Strong ability to identify, coordinate resolution, and closeout of system defects.
• Experience testing multi-tier, multi-platform, integrated/interconnected solutions and reporting systems.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, interpersonal, and consulting skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience testing web, desktop, and mobile applications.
• Experience with high availability, 24x7 mission-critical applications.
• Knowledge of IT standards and guidelines related to test strategy development, security, and privacy compliance.
• Experience with system debugging, refactoring, and optimization.
• Public sector experience related to technology solution testing.

Special Considerations:

• Onsite work required at specified office locations.
• Must adhere to standard working hours and onsite attendance policies.
• Extensions permitted only within unused contract days and remaining funds; no additional funding beyond contract maximum.

Scheduling:

• Work 7.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
• Standard working hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, excluding lunch breaks.
